大和薬品株式会社は2015年9月2日～3日の日程で、 “Vitafoods Asia”（香港）に出展しました。“Vitafoods Asia”はアジア地域を対象とした栄養補助食品や機能性食品の展示会で、Asia World- Expo Hong Kong（香港）で開催され、今年は約180社が出展しました。
大和薬品は、バイオブラン、NKCP、米ケフィランのオリジナル素材を中心にご紹介し、香港のみでなく、インドネシア、マレーシア、インド、フィリピン、フランスなどから参加した多くの方々にブースにお立ち寄りいただきました。素材について様々なお問合せをいただき、特に米ケフィランは、来場者の興味を集めました。
大和薬品は、海外での市場開拓に向けてさらなる展開を目指します。
■気になるからだ 「地域包括ケアシステム」とは？
人口に占める65歳以上の高齢者の割合は、これから約30年にわたって上昇し続けるとされています。2012年に約462万人と推定される（厚生労働省研究班）認知症患者も、今後増加が見込まれています。
そうした中で「将来、介護が必要な状態になっても、住み慣れた自宅で過ごしたい」と考える人は多いのではないでしょうか。近ごろ新聞などで目にする「地域包括ケアシステム」は、そのような要望に対応するために導入されようとしているものです。
医療、介護、予防、そして自治会やNPOといった生活支援が相互に連携し、継ぎ目なく高齢者の支援に取り組む計画です。医療においては、大きな病院だけではなくリハビリ病院やかかりつけ医が連携して、介護においては、施設や訪問看護、通所介護などを含めた適時適切な場面でケアを提供するのです。
ただ、都心と郊外、あるいは地方都市と山間部などでは、高齢者の割合や受け入れ施設の整備などの環境が異なります。地域によっては、要介護状態の人の過ごす場所が不足する懸念があります。
そこで、市町村や都道府県が主体となって地域の特性に応じてシステムを構築することになりました。すでに東京都世田谷区や千葉県柏市、三重県四日市市などでモデル事業が行われていますが、団塊の世代が75歳以上となる2025年までを目安に各地で構築する計画です。

The proportion of people aged 65 and over in the population is expected to continue rising for about the next 30 years. The estimated 4.62 million dementia patients in 2012 (according to the Ministry of Health, Labour, and Welfare research team) are expected to increase in the future.
In such circumstances, many people may wish to "live at home as long as possible even if they require care in the future." The "Community-Based Integrated Care System," which you may have seen in newspapers recently, is being introduced to meet this kind of need.
It is a plan where medical care, nursing care, prevention, and life support from neighborhood associations or NPOs work together, providing seamless support for the elderly. In medical care, rehabilitation hospitals and primary care doctors collaborate, not just large hospitals. In nursing care, appropriate care is provided at the right time through facilities, home-visit nursing, and day-care services.
However, the environment differs between urban and suburban areas, or between regional cities and mountainous areas, in terms of the proportion of elderly people and the availability of care facilities. In some regions, there is a concern about the shortage of places for those requiring care.
Therefore, municipalities and prefectures are taking the lead in building systems tailored to regional characteristics. Model projects are already underway in places such as Setagaya Ward, Tokyo; Kashiwa City, Chiba; and Yokkaichi City, Mie. The plan is to establish the system nationwide by around 2025 when the baby boomer generation reaches 75 years old.
