Drew大学を中心とする研究グループは、「バイオブラン/MGN-3（米ぬかアラビノキシラン）はマウスの乳腺癌腫瘍細胞のパクリタキセルへの感受性を高める」と題して、バイオブランの最新の研究成果について2015年米国癌研究会議年次総会（AACR: American Association for Cancer Research）で発表を行いました。同学会は2015年4月18日～22日の日程で、ペンシルバニア コンベンションセンター（フィラデルフィア・米国）で開催されました。
引き続きバイオブランの様々な可能性を追求します。

2015年5月24日（日）に大阪府教育会館 たかつガーデンにおいて関西地区の薬局・薬店の方々を対象に、「大和薬品 関西地区勉強会」を行いました。当日は、小松和史先生（小松薬品／日立市）にご講演いただき、腸管免疫とM細胞のはたらきや、バイオブランとNKCPによる実際の有効例についてご説明いただきました。多くの参加者の方々に熱心にご聴講いただき、充実した勉強会となりました。
今後とも有益な情報の発信に尽力します。
■SEKCAMA 20th （乳癌国際学会／スロバキア）に出席しました
スロバキアにて「SEKCANA 20th （第20回 乳癌国際会議）」に出席しました。同学会は2015年5月14日～15日の日程でブラチスラバ（スロバキア）で実施され、多くの医療従事者や研究者が出席しました。学会では、乳癌についての最新の診断方法や治療方法、代替療法が紹介されました。Dr.Tibor Csokaが従来の癌治療にBioBranを併用した症例を報告しました。講演には、200名を超える腫瘍学者が参加し、熱心に聴講しました。
気になるからだ 皮膚にできるがん・メラノーマ
悪性黒色腫（あくせいこくしょくしゅ）は皮膚がんの１種です。メラノーマとも呼ばれます。病名から想像できるように黒褐色の病変で、足の底、手足の爪、顔にできやすい病気です。過度の日光照射を受け続けることなどで、がんを抑制する遺伝子が力をなくしたり、逆にがんの原因となる遺伝子が活気づいたりするものと推測されます。白人に比べて黄色人種では比較的少なく、日本における発生率は年間10万人あたり2人くらいとされています。
胃がんや肺がんなどと比べて頻度は低いので過度に心配することはありませんが、頭に入れておいてもよいでしょう。もちろん、黒褐色を呈する皮膚の病気は他にもあります。病院で特殊な拡大鏡で観察すると、他の病気との区別の助けになります。
根治可能な治療法は手術です。進行した場合は薬物治療が行われます。最近では免疫療法薬の開発が急速に進み、メラノーマはがんの中でも免疫療法の応用が進んだ病気として注目されています。2014年に実用化された免疫療法薬は、免疫システムに働いてこれを活性化させ、免疫細胞にがん細胞を攻撃させます。
なお、先ほど病因の一つに過度の日光照射を挙げましたが、日光は人間にとって有益な点もあるので、良い点と悪い点を知ったうえで上手に付き合うのが賢いと言えます。

■ [Conference Presentation] Biobran / MGN-3 (rice bran arabinoxylan) increases sensitivity of mouse breast cancer tumor cells to paclitaxel
A research group centered at Drew University presented their latest findings on BioBran under the theme "Biobran Enhances Sensitivity to Paclitaxel in Mouse Breast Cancer Tumor Cells" at the 2015 American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) Annual Meeting. The conference was held on April 18~22, 2015, at the Pennsylvania Convention Center (Philadelphia, USA).
We will continue to pursue various possibilities of BioBlanc.
■ Participated in the 2nd Integrative Medicine Conference (Hungary)
We exhibited at the 2nd Integrative Medicine Society in Hungary and introduced Biobran in Hungary. The conference was held in Budapest (Hungary) on April 24~25, 2015. During the presentation, Professor Hajito presented new findings on the use of Biobran in the treatment of cancer patients, and many participants listened attentively.

We exhibited at the "Healthy Food Ingredients & OEM Exhibition 2015." This exhibition specializes in the sales and OEM manufacturing of health food ingredients and was held at the Tokyo International Forum on Tuesday, April 21 ~ Wednesday, April 22, 2015. At our booth, we introduced our original ingredients developed from traditional Japanese ingredients, rice bran arabinoxylan "Biobran," purified nut bacteria culture "NKCP," and LK lactic acid bacteria rice medium product "Rice Kefiran," which attracted many inquiries from customers. In the corporate presentation, under the theme "Usefulness of NKCP (Refined Nut Bacteria Culture) and Biobran (Rice Bran Arabinoxylan)," we presented the latest data on NKCP and Biobran products.

On Sunday, May 24, 2015, we held the "Daiwa Pharmaceutical Kansai Region Study Session" at the Osaka Prefectural Education Hall Takatsu Garden, targeting pharmacies and drugstores in the Kansai region. On the day, Dr. Kazufumi Komatsu (Komatsu Pharmaceutical/Hitachi City) gave a lecture, explaining the function of intestinal immunity and M cells, as well as practical effective cases of BioBran and NKCP. Many participants listened enthusiastically, making it a fulfilling study session.
We will continue to strive to share useful information going forward.
■ Attended SEKCAMA 20th (International Breast Cancer Conference / Slovakia)
I attended the "SEKCANA 20th" in Slovakia. The conference was held in Bratislava (Slovakia) on May 14~15, 2015, and was attended by many healthcare professionals and researchers. The conference introduced the latest diagnostic and treatment methods for breast cancer, as well as alternative therapies. Dr. Tibor Csoka reported a case where BioBran was used in combination with conventional cancer treatment. More than 200 oncologists attended the lecture and listened attentively.
It's a concern: Cancer and melanoma that can occur on the skin
Malignant melanoma is a type of skin cancer. It is also known as melanoma. As the name suggests, it is a dark brown lesion that tends to appear on the soles of the feet, toenails, and face. It is thought that continuous exposure to excessive sunlight can weaken genes suppressing cancer, or conversely, activate genes that cause cancer. Compared to Caucasians, it is relatively rare among Asians, and in Japan, the incidence rate is said to be about 2 per 100,000 people per year.
Compared to stomach or lung cancer, these are less common, so there is no need to worry excessively, but it is okay to keep them in mind. Of course, there are other skin diseases that can appear dark brown. Observing them under a special magnifying glass at a hospital can help distinguish them from other diseases.
The curative treatment is surgery. If it progresses, drug therapy is performed. Recently, the development of immunotherapy drugs has progressed rapidly, and melanoma has attracted attention as a cancer disease where immunotherapy has been widely applied. Immunotherapy drugs, commercialized in 2014, work on the immune system to activate it, causing immune cells to attack cancer cells.
Earlier, I mentioned excessive sun exposure as one of the causes of illness, but sunlight also has benefits for humans, so it can be said that it is wise to handle it well, knowing both its good and bad points.
