◎ 在国际流变学会上展示了NKCP的研究成果
第14届国际流变学会于8月22日至27日在韩国首尔举行，我们公司发表了题为《源自格尔塔分枝杆菌纯化蛋白对人类血液（流变学）的影响》的研究报告。
这项由坞京医科大学编纂的研究，从根本和临床角度探讨了纯化镰壳培养物“NKCP”对人体血液流变学（弹性和粘度）的影响。
因此，基础研究中不仅观察到此前报告的纤溶活性增强，还观察到抗凝活性。临床实践中，纤维蛋白溶解活性显著增强，主观症状如肩部僵硬的改善表明通过抗凝作用改善局部循环。
此外，关于这些效应对人体血液流变学的影响，还需进一步研究，因为它与预防血栓有关。
关于本次演讲，与会者进行了有意义且热烈的讨论。
♪ 在日本应用糖科学学会年会上展示“Bio Blanc”最新研究成果
第53届日本应用糖理学会年会及第12届糖相关酶化学研讨会于9月15~17日在鹿儿岛县交流中心举行，公司介绍了旗舰成分“Bio Blanc”的最新研究成果。
日本应用糖科学会是一个旨在推动多种糖化学及相关酶化学（包括淀粉）的发展的组织，并促进科学、技术及相关产业的发展。该学会积极吸引来自工业界、学术界和政府的广泛研究人员和工程师，从基础和实践角度开展研究活动。
本次演讲是在一场主题为“碳水化合物功能”的综合讲座中进行的，讲述了与弘崎大学联合研究“BioBran免疫调节剂”，题为“米麸衍生免疫调节物质的化学结构”。
本报告涉及利用巨噬细胞活化作为指示剂，寻找米糠衍生“生物麸皮”的免疫激活活性，并分析参与免疫调控的成分的化学结构。
对高活性组分和糖结合模式的组成糖类的分析表明，“BioBlanc”中有用的物质是具有复杂结构的杂多糖。
自1992年以来，关于“生物麸皮”有效性和基础测试的研究已在国内外开展，迄今已在40多个学术会议上发表，发表了10多篇论文。
◎ 日本功能食品研究会（JAFRA）举办了“第四届国际替代医学研讨会”，大和制药株式会社在英国举办了“生物麸工作坊2004”。
日本功能食品研究学会（JAFRA）与我们公司于9月23日星期四~9月28日星期二在英国牛津举办了一场聚焦整合医学的工作坊。这两场活动都超出预期，吸引了来自日本、亚洲及欧洲多个国家的100多名参与者。
JAFRA主办的“国际研讨会”迄今涵盖了广泛的整合医学领域，包括整体医学、斯坦纳医学（人智医学）、顺势疗法、克奈普疗法、疗愈、植物疗法、心理治疗和音乐疗法。这次，世界顶尖专家就癌症高温疗法、阿育吠陀（印度传统疗法）、癌症免疫疗法以及癌症患者的心理学方法等主题进行了讲座和演讲。
此外，公司主办的“生物布兰研讨会”汇聚了来自日本及海外的医生和研究人员，展示并讨论已上市10年的生物布兰基础和临床试验成果。这是该研讨会第三次在欧洲举办。
本次公告包括以下三项内容。

我们将在《Bio Blanc》和《NKCP》之后，以完整的六部分系列形式介绍我们的新食材“Rice Kephilan”。
第二部分：“米饭凯菲兰”的特点
<1> 由先进技术孕育的突破性材料
成功实现乳酸菌L. kefirano faciens的大规模培养，并高效生产植物基克菲兰。该产品首次应用于食品制造。
<2> 稀有植物基半乳糖聚糖
虽然半乳糖聚光糖（kefiran）的化学结构通常是动物来源的，而我们的“稻米凯菲兰”则是纯粹的植物基。
<3>可信开发系统
在东京大学乳酸细菌研究权威光冈友张名誉教授的指导下，我们开展了技术开发。这项技术开发作为农林渔业省的资助项目，历时五年完成，并获得了高度评价。

[1] “斯坦纳的'人智学'与健康与疾病”
越来越多的团体和个人希望了解斯坦纳的思想和生活方式。
鲁道夫·斯坦纳（1861~1925）是一位思想家和哲学家，出生于前奥地利（今克罗地亚），以其独特的新世界观“人智学”创立了广泛的精神运动而闻名。
这一哲学不仅是理论学科，至今仍在医学、药学、艺术、农业和社会学等各领域实践。据说斯坦纳一生中为传播这门灵性科学举办了6000多场讲座。
关于这种“人智学”，据说虽然人生而有灵性能力，但他们对物质主义的倾向压制了这种力量。
然而，基本理念是通过冥想或专注于提升智力，你可以克服这种状态。
以德国为中心的医学受到了斯坦纳思想的影响，这一传统一直延续至今。近年来，基于其起源，它作为人道医学受到关注。
作为疾病的治疗方法，斯坦纳列出了以下三种方法。
1）使用物理手段的方法，如药物。
2）通过艺术疗愈身体的方法。
3）通过冥想沉浸于灵性科学的方法。
医学并非仅依赖药物或化疗，而是将人类视为宇宙的一部分，并涉足心理科学领域，如治疗和治疗，以应对疾病。
你可以看到，它不是独立的医学，而是与历史、社会学、伦理学和艺术等学术领域相关。也许这是一种只有通过成为哲学家才能完善的哲学。
斯坦纳的思想极其宽泛且极其复杂，以至于在这里无法清晰地解释所有内容。

当你想到医院诊所做的检查时，脑海中浮现的是什么？血液、X光、尿液。
你可能以前经历过这三件事。
那头发呢？指甲呢？
虽然这些检查有时用于皮肤疾病（如脱发和指甲脚），但相比血液或尿液检查，频率较低。
然而，在整合医学中，有时会主动使用头发和指甲作为样本。
这是因为它有助于评估内部环境，如养分和化学物质。
如果你考虑体内吸收的成分通过血液循环并到达头发和指甲（有些物质在体内分布不同，不适合用指甲或头发分析）就更容易理解了。
例如，9月份有数据报告了钉子中矿物质含量分析的数据。
本研究考察了40~75岁男性中铬（一种矿物质）浓度与糖尿病之间的关系。铬是一种被期望促进葡萄糖代谢的营养素。
因此，糖尿病患者（688名患者）脚趾甲上的铬浓度为0.61 μg/g，糖尿病和心血管疾病患者（198名患者）为0.52 μg/g，健康成人（361名患者）为0.71 μg/g。研究团队得出结论：“糖尿病和心血管病患者指甲趾铬含量低于健康男性。”
除了血液、尿液和医疗访谈外，指甲和头发也是身体信息的重要来源。

视觉显示终端（VDT）需要长时间盯着电脑屏幕，正在引发眼睛健康问题。
典型的例子是“眼睛干燥（干眼症・dry eye）”，这是导致眼睛疲劳，也就是所谓眼疲劳的重要因素。
我们的眼球受到持续分泌的“基础泪液”和因刺激产生的“反射性泪液”的保护。如果长时间睁眼，有些人只需大约10秒，眼球表面就会开始干燥。
因此，通常每个人都会无意识地反复眨眼，用基础泪液覆盖眼球表面以保护它。
在干眼症中，由于泪液分泌量减少，眼球表面变得干燥，从而产生各种损伤。在严重情况下，会导致眼痛、视力下降，甚至角膜表面出现角化变性。
作为干眼症的对策，应尽量在使用VDT（视觉显示终端）时频繁休息（每30-40分钟休息10-15分钟），如果仍不够，可以建议经常使用市售的“人工泪液”进行点眼。当感到眼疲劳时，首先应想到可能是干眼症引起的，并平时注意眼睛健康。

◎国際レオロジー学会で、NKCPの研究成果を発表
第１４回国際レオロジー学会が、8月22日～27日ソウル（韓国）で開催され、弊社は「ナットウ菌由来精製タンパクがヒト血液（レオロジー）に及ぼす作用」と題して研究発表を行いました。
この研究は、獨協医科大学がとりまとめ、精製ナットウ菌培養物「ＮＫＣＰ」のヒト血液のレオロジー（弾粘性)に及ぼす影響 を基礎的、臨床的に検討したものです。
その結果、基礎的な検討では、従来より言われてきた線溶活性の亢進ばかりでなく、抗凝固活性が認められました。臨床においては線溶活性の有意な亢進が認められ、自覚症状で認められた肩こり等の改善は抗凝固効果による局所循環の改善 を示唆していることを発表しました。
また，これらヒト血液のレオロジーに及ぼす影響については、血栓症の予防につながる効果であることから今後さらなる検討が必要であると述べました。
今回の発表については、出席者と有意義かつ活発な討論が行われました。
◎日本応用糖質科学会大会にて「バイオブラン」の最新の研究成果を発表
日本応用糖質科学会平成16年度大会（第53回）、第12回糖質関連酵素化学シンポジウムが、9月15日～17日、かごしま県民交流センター（鹿児島）で開催され、弊社は、主力素材である「バイオブラン」について最新の研究成果を発表しました。
日本応用糖質科学会は、澱粉をはじめとする各種糖質化学および関連する酵素化学の進歩を図り、科学、技術および関連産業の発展に寄与することを目的とした団体で、産学官から幅広い研究者、技術者が参画し、基礎・実用両面からの研究活動を積極的に行っています。
今回の発表は、「糖質の機能」をテーマにした一般講演の中で行われたもので、「米糠由来免疫調節物質の化学構造」と題して「バイオブラン」について弘前大学との共同研究の成果を発表したものです。
今回の発表は、米糠由来「バイオブラン」の免疫賦活活性について、マクロファージの活性化を指標として検索し、免疫調節に関わる成分の化学構造の分析を行ったものです。
高い活性を示す画分の構成糖分析や糖結合様式分析の結果から、「バイオブラン」に含まれる有用物質は複雑な構造を有するヘテロ多糖であることが示唆されました。
「バイオブラン」については、1992年以降国内外で効果・基礎試験などの研究が繰り返され、いままでに40を超す学会発表と10を超す論文が発表されています。
◎日本食品機能研究会(JAFRA)が「第4回国際代替医療ワークショップ」、大和薬品（株）が「バイオブランワークショップ2004」を、イギリスにて開催
日本食品機能研究会（ＪＡＦＲＡ）と弊社では、９月２３日（木）～２８日（火）統合医療を中心としたワークショップをイギリス・オックスフォードで開催しました。どちらも、日本をはじめアジア、ヨーロッパ各国から100人を超える出席者をむかえ予想以上の盛況となりました。
JAFRA主催の「インターナショナルワークショップ」は、いままで、ホリスティック医学、シュタイナー医学（人智学医療）、ホメオパシー、クナイプ療法、ヒーリング、フィトセラピー、心理療法、音楽療法など、統合医療を多岐に亘って取り上げてきましたが、今回は、ガンの温熱療法、インドの伝統的治療であるアーユルベーダ、ガンの免疫療法、ガン患者に対する心理的アプローチなどについて、世界のトップレベルの専門家による講演、発表となりました。
また弊社が主催した「バイオブランワークショップ」は、発売10年になるバイオブランについて内外の医師・研究者が基礎試験・臨床試験の成果を発表・討論するもので、ヨーロッパでの開催は今回で3回目となります。
今回の発表は、次の3つです。
１）前立腺癌のフィトセラピー～期待か現実か

これに続き、浜松医科大学の遠藤雄三博士を座長として「バイオブランの抗炎症作用」について活発な討論があり、有意な意見が交わされたことなど、今回のワークショップが予想以上に成功裏に終了したことから、来年以降についても引き続き開催したいとして、計画を進めています。

ケフィランの化学構造式であるガラクトグルカンは動物由来が一般的ですが、当社の「米ケフィラン」は純植物性です。

乳酸菌研究の第一人者、東京大学光岡知足名誉教授の指導のもと、技術開発を行いました。また、この技術開発は農林水産省助成事業として5年間にわたり実施し、高い評価を得ています。

■健康お役立ち情報
【1】 「シュタイナーの「人智学」と健康・病気」
シュタイナーの思想や生き方を学ぼうとするグループや個人が増えています。
ルドルフ・シュタイナー（１８６１～１９２５）は、旧オーストリア（現クロアチア）生まれの思想家・哲学者で、独自の新しい世界観「人智学」（アントロポゾフィー）によって広範な精神運動を創設したことで知られています。
この思想は、単に机上の学問としてではなく、医学や薬学をはじめ、芸術、農業、社会学など、あらゆる分野でいまでも実践されています。シュタイナーは、この精神科学を広めるために生涯で６０００回を超える講演を行ったと言われます。
この「人智学」については、人間は誰しも生まれながらにして霊能力を持っているが、物質主義に寄っているためにその力は抑えられてきた。
しかし、瞑想したり、念をこめて知力を上げると、この状態は克服できる、という考えが根本にあります。
シュタイナーの思想の影響を受けたのがドイツを中心とした医学で、これは現代にも引き継がれています。最近では、原点に基づいた人間的な医学として注目されています。
病気に対する処置法として、シュタイナーは次の三つの方法を挙げています。
１） 医薬等物理的な手段を用いる方法。
２） 芸術を通して身体に治癒的に働きかける方法。
３） 精神科学への瞑想的沈潜による方法。
ややもすれば薬品や化学療法一辺倒になりがちな医療ではなく、自然の摂理の中の人間を宇宙の中の一部と見て、ヒーリングやセラピーなどといった精神科学の領域にまで立ち入って病気に対峙するものです。
そこには、医学として独立したものではなく、歴史や社会学、倫理学、 芸術などの学問と相関した姿が見てとれます。哲学者だから完成しえた思想ということでしょうか。
シュタイナーの思想については、非常に広範でしかも極めて難解ですので、ここですべてをわかりやすく解説することは不可能です。
それでも興味のある方は、どれか一冊シュタイナー関連の本をご一読ください。

【2】・・・海外統合医療ニュース 第8回 爪分析と糖尿病
病医院で行う検査というと何を思い浮かべますか。血液、レントゲン、尿。
この３つは経験したことがあるのではないでしょうか。
では、髪の毛はどうでしょう。爪は？
これらは皮膚疾患（脱毛症、爪水虫）の検査として行われるケースはありますが、血液や尿と比べると実施頻度は少なくなります。
しかし、統合医療の現場では毛髪や爪を検体として積極的に活用するケースがあります。
栄養素や化学物質といった体内環境の評価に役立つからです。
体に取り込まれた成分が血液にのって全身を巡り、髪の毛や爪にたどり着くと考えれば分かりやすいでしょう（物質によっては体内での分布に差があって、爪や毛髪での分析に向かないものがあります）。
例えば９月には、爪に含まれるミネラル分析のデータが報告されました。
40～75歳の男性を対象に、クロム（ミネラルの１種）の濃度と糖尿病との関連を見たものです。クロムは糖代謝の改善が期待される栄養素です。
その結果、足の爪のクロム濃度は、糖尿病患者（688名）が0.61μg／g、糖尿病に心臓血管疾患を合併した患者（198名）が0.52μg／g、健康成人（361名）が0.71μg／gとなっていました。研究チームでは「糖尿病に心臓血管疾患を合併した男性は、健康な男性より爪のクロム濃度が低いことが示唆された」と結論付けています。
血液や尿、問診などに加えて、爪や毛髪も生体からの情報源として有益というわけです。

■連載シリーズ・・・第8回 ドライアイについて

パソコンの画面を長時間にわたって注視するVDT（visual display terminals）作業が、眼の健康障害を生み出しています。その典型例が「眼の乾燥（ドライアイ・dry eye）」で、これが眼の疲れ、いわゆる眼性疲労を来す大きな要因になっています。
私達の眼球は、常時分泌されている「基礎的な涙」と刺激によって出てくる「反射的な涙」によって保護されています。眼球の表面は眼を開いたままにしておくと、早い人では10秒ほどで眼球表面が乾いてきます。
このため、通常、誰もが無意識に瞬きを繰り返し、基礎的な涙で眼球の表面を覆いこれを保護する仕組みを働かせています。
ドライアイでは、この涙液の分泌量が減少するため眼球表面が乾燥し、様々な障害を生じさせている状態です。これが著しい場合には、眼の痛みや、視力の低下、更には角膜表面に角化変性を起こすようになります。
ドライアイ対策としては、VDT作業時における休息を可能な限り頻繁に取り（30-40分毎に10-15分休む）、これにても不十分な場合には、市販の「人口涙液」のこまめな点眼もお勧めです。眼の疲れを感じているときは、先ずはそれがドライアイのせいかも知れないことに想いを馳せ、日頃から眼の健康に留意するように致しましょう。

◎ Presented NKCP's research results at the International Rheology Society
The 14th International Rheology Society was held in Seoul (South Korea) from August 22~27, where our company presented a research presentation titled "The Effects of Purified Protein Derived from Gertha Mycobacterium on Human Blood (Rheology)."
This study, compiled by Dokkyo Medical University, fundamentally and clinically examines the effects of purified Nuthatchil culture 'NKCP' on the rheology (elasticity and viscosity) of human blood.
As a result, in the basic studies, not only the previously reported enhancement of fibrinolytic activity but also anticoagulant activity was observed. In clinical practice, significant enhancement of fibrinolytic activity was observed, and improvements in subjective symptoms such as shoulder stiffness suggest improvement of local circulation through anticoagulant effects.
Furthermore, regarding the effects of these effects on human blood rheology, further investigation is needed since it is linked to the prevention of thrombosis.
Regarding this presentation, there was a meaningful and lively discussion with the attendees.
◎ Presentation of the latest research results on "Bio Blanc" at the Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society of Applied Glycoscience
The 53rd Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society for Applied Glycosciology and the 12th Symposium on Sugar-Related Enzyme Chemistry were held on September 15~17 at the Kagoshima Prefectural Exchange Center (Kagoshima), where our company presented the latest research results on our flagship ingredient, "Bio Blanc."
The Japanese Society of Applied Glycoscience is an organization aimed at advancing various glycochemistry and related enzyme chemistry, including starch, and contributing to the development of science, technology, and related industries. It actively engages a wide range of researchers and engineers from industry, academia, and government, engaging in research activities from both basic and practical perspectives.
This presentation was given during a general lecture themed on "Functions of Carbohydrates," presenting the results of joint research with Hirosaki University on "BioBran Immunomodulators," titled "Chemical Structure of Immune Regulatory Substances Derived from Rice Bran."
This presentation involves searching for the immunoactivating activity of rice bran-derived "Bio Bran" using macrophage activation as an indicator, and analyzing the chemical structures of components involved in immune regulation.
Analysis of the constituent sugars of the highly active fractions and glycos-binding patterns suggested that the useful substances contained in "BioBlanc" are heteropolysaccharides with complex structures.
Since 1992, research on the effectiveness and basic testing of "Bio Bran has been conducted both domestically and internationally," with over 40 academic conferences and more than 10 papers published to date.

The Japan Society for Functional Food Research (JAFRA) and our company held a workshop focused on integrative medicine in Oxford, UK, from Thursday, September 23 ~ Tuesday, September 28. Both events were a greater-than-expected success, welcoming over 100 participants from Japan, Asia, and various European countries.
The "International Workshop" hosted by JAFRA has so far covered a wide range of integrative medicine, including holistic medicine, Steiner medicine (anthroposophy medicine), homeopathy, Kneipp therapy, healing, phytotherapy, psychotherapy, and music therapy. This time, the world's top experts gave lectures and presentations on topics such as cancer hyperthermia, Ayurveda (a traditional Indian treatment), cancer immunotherapy, and psychological approaches for cancer patients.
Additionally, the "Bio Bran Workshop" hosted by our company brought together doctors and researchers from Japan and abroad to present and discuss the results of basic and clinical trials on Bio Bran that has been on the market for 10 years. This marks the third time it has been held in Europe.

[1] "Steiner's 'Anthroposophy' and Health & Disease"
More groups and individuals are seeking to learn Steiner's ideas and way of life.
Rudolf Steiner (1861~1925) was a thinker and philosopher born in former Austria (now Croatia), known for founding a broad spiritual movement through his unique new worldview, 'anthroposophies.'
This philosophy is not merely a theoretical discipline but is still practiced today in all fields, including medicine and pharmacy, as well as art, agriculture, and sociology. It is said that Steiner gave over 6,000 lectures in his lifetime to spread this spiritual science.
Regarding this "anthroposophy," it is said that while everyone is born with spiritual abilities, their tendency toward materialism has suppressed that power.
However, the fundamental idea is that by meditating or focusing on raising your intellect, you can overcome this state.
Medicine centered on Germany was influenced by Steiner's thought, and this tradition continues to this day. Recently, it has attracted attention as humane medicine based on its origins.
As treatments for disease, Steiner lists the following three methods.
1) Methods using physical means such as medicine.
2) Methods to heal the body through art.
3) Methods through meditative immersion in the spiritual sciences.
Rather than medicine that tends to be relying solely on drugs or chemotherapy, it views humans within the laws of nature as part of the universe, and ventures into the realm of mental science such as healing and therapy to confront illness.
In it, you can see that it is not independent medicine, but rather correlated with academic fields such as history, sociology, ethics, and the arts. Perhaps it is a philosophy that could only be perfected by being a philosopher.
Steiner's thought is so broad and extremely complex that it is impossible to explain everything clearly here.

When you think of tests performed at a hospital clinic, what comes to mind? Blood, X-rays, urine.
You may have experienced these three things before.
So, what about hair? What about nails?
While these tests are sometimes performed for skin diseases (such as alopecia and nail athlete's foot), they are less frequent compared to blood or urine.
However, in integrative medicine, hair and nails are sometimes actively used as specimens.
This is because it helps assess the internal environment such as nutrients and chemicals.
It's easier to understand if you think of the components absorbed in the body circulating throughout the bloodstream and reaching hair and nails (some substances differ in distribution within the body and are not suitable for analysis on nails or hair).
For example, in September, data analyzing mineral content contained in nails was reported.
This study examined the relationship between chromium (a type of mineral) concentration and diabetes in men aged 40~75. Chromium is a nutrient expected to improve glucose metabolism.
As a result, the chromium concentration on toenails was 0.61 μg/g in diabetic patients (688 patients), 0.52 μg/g in patients with diabetes and cardiovascular disease (198 patients), and 0.71 μg/g in healthy adults (361 patients). The research team concluded that "men with diabetes and cardiovascular disease have lower nail-toe chromium levels than healthy men."
In addition to blood, urine, and medical interviews, nails and hair are also valuable sources of information from the body.

■ Series Series: Part 8: About Dry Eye

Visual display terminals (VDT), which involve staring at computer screens for extended periods, are causing eye health problems.
A typical example is 'eye dryness (dry eye),' which is a major factor causing eye fatigue, also known as ocular fatigue.
Our eyes are protected by 'basal tears,' which are constantly secreted, and 'reflex tears,' which are produced in response to stimuli. When the eyes are kept open, the surface of the eyeball can start to dry in as little as about 10 seconds for some people.
Therefore, normally, everyone unconsciously blinks repeatedly, covering the surface of the eyeball with basal tears to protect it.
In dry eye, the amount of tear secretion decreases, causing the surface of the eyeball to dry out and leading to various problems. When severe, it can cause eye pain, decreased vision, and even keratinization on the surface of the cornea.
As a measure against dry eye, it is recommended to take breaks as frequently as possible during VDT work (10-15 minutes every 30-40 minutes). If this is insufficient, it is also recommended to frequently use commercially available 'artificial tears.' When you feel eye fatigue, first consider that it may be due to dry eye, and try to pay attention to your eye health on a regular basis.
