我们公司于5月18日在东京开始，6月1日在札幌和6月15日在大阪举办了“米饭Kefilan研讨会”。
此次活动还作为我们第三款旗舰产品“Kefira”和“LK500”的介绍会，这些产品于四月在全国范围内发布。在这三个场馆，东京大学名誉教授、农业博士、世界知名肠道微生物组研究权威光冈智孝先生发表了题为“肠道微生物群与稻米开菲兰的实用性”的演讲。

说到牙科疾病，蛀牙可能是第一个想到的，但牙周病是成人牙齿脱落的主要原因之一。
牙齿表面有细菌及其产物（“牙菌斑”）的簇状结构，它们通过吸收食物残渣和唾液中的营养以维持生存。
如果不通过刷牙去除，它会积聚在牙齿和牙龈之间的缝隙中，引发炎症（牙周病）。如果这种情况持续太久，支撑牙齿的组织会被破坏，导致牙齿脱落。

◎東京・札幌・大阪で「米ケフィランセミナー」を開催しました。
当社は5月18日の東京を皮切りに、6月1日に札幌、6月15日に大阪で、「米ケフィランサミナー」を開催しました。
これは、4月に全国発売となった当社の第3の主力製品「ケフィーラ」と「LK500」の説明会を兼ねて行われたもので、3会場とも、腸内細菌研究の世界的権威である光岡知足氏（東京大学名誉教授・農学博士）が、「腸内細菌叢と米ケフィランの有用性」と題して講演しました。
光岡氏は、当社が農林水産省の助成のもとで行なったこの製品の開発に終始技術指導にあたりましたが、日本人の主食である米を栄養源として、LK乳酸菌の単独培養に成功したことや、ケフィランを高濃度に含む米ケフィランの量産技術を世界に先駆けて確立したこともあって、説得力のある熱のこもった講演となりました。
米ケフィランの機能性については、すでに多くの作用が明らかになっていますが、さまざまなデータから、とくにメタボリックシンドロームへの働きが期待されています。
当社では、この新製品について、相談薬局ルートと医療機関ルートの2路線を設けて、それぞれの戦略を展開しています。

【29】歯と全身の健康との関係
歯の病気といえば、まず虫歯を思い浮かべるかもしれませんが、成人が歯を失う原因としては歯周病が重要です。
歯の表面には細菌とその産生物の塊（「歯垢」）があり、食べもののカスや唾液などから栄養を吸収して生息しています。
歯みがきで取り除けていないと、歯と歯茎のすき間にどんどん溜まり、炎症が起きます（歯周病）。これを長い間繰り返していると、歯を支える組織が破壊され、歯の喪失につながるというわけです。
さらに厄介なのは、問題が口の中だけにとどまらないこと。
例えば、糖尿病の人は歯周病に罹りやすく、歯周病があることが糖尿病に悪影響を及ぼすという双方向の関連が指摘されています。
また、歯周病の人は心臓病に罹りやすいとされています。
6月に発表された米国の疫学データでは、40～75歳の男性およそ5万人を約18年間追跡すると、歯周病のある人では、がん（一部の皮膚がんを除く）の発生が1.14倍。
わずかではあるものの高くなっていました。
なぜ歯茎の病気が全身の病気と関係しているのでしょうか。
細菌が歯と歯茎のすき間から血管を通じて全身に移行することや、口の中の炎症に伴って発生した物質が全身的に悪さをすることなどが考えられます。歯を守ることは全身の健康につながるということです。

水分(スポーツドリンクなど)をこまめに摂取する、直射日光に長時間当たらない、冷房のききすぎている環境に長時間いないなどが熱中症対策に挙げられます。

Starting in Tokyo on May 18, our company held the "Rice Kefilan Seminar" in Sapporo on June 1 and Osaka on June 15.
This event also served as an information session for our third flagship products, "Kefira" and "LK500," which were launched nationwide in April. At all three venues, Mr. Tomotari Mitsuoka (Professor Emeritus at the University of Tokyo and Ph.D. in Agriculture), a world-renowned authority in gut microbiome research, gave a lecture titled "The Gut Microbiota and the Usefulness of Rice Kefiran."
Mr. Mitsuoka provided technical guidance throughout the development of this product, which our company undertook with support from the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries. Thanks to his success in independently culturing LK lactic acid bacteria using rice—the staple food of Japanese people—as well as his pioneering global establishment of mass production technology for rice kefiran containing high concentrations of kefiran, the lecture was a convincing and passionate event.
Many of the functional effects of rice kefiran have already been clarified, and various data suggest that it is especially expected to have effects on metabolic syndrome.
For this new product, our company has established two routes: the consultation pharmacy route and the medical institution route, each of which is being developed as a strategy.

[29] The Relationship Between Teeth and Overall Health
When it comes to dental diseases, cavities might be the first thing that comes to mind, but periodontal disease is a major cause of tooth loss in adults.
On the surface of teeth, there are clusters of bacteria and their products ('plaque'), which absorb nutrients from food debris and saliva to survive.
If you don't remove it with brushing, it accumulates in the gaps between your teeth and gums, causing inflammation (periodontal disease). If this is repeated for a long time, the tissue supporting the teeth is destroyed, leading to tooth loss.
What's even more troublesome is that the problem doesn't stay just in the mouth.
For example, people with diabetes are more prone to periodontal disease, and having periodontal disease negatively affects diabetes, showing a two-way relationship.
Additionally, people with periodontal disease are considered more prone to heart disease.
According to U.S. epidemiological data released in June, following approximately 50,000 men aged 40~75 for about 18 years, people with periodontal disease had a 1.14 times higher incidence of cancer (excluding some skin cancers).
