公司于1月27日、2月3日和2月17日分别在札幌、大阪和东京举办了“生物麸研讨会”。

[25] 预防性体检将于四月开始
一个名为“特异健康体检与特异健康指导”的健康检查系统将于四月启动。计划是确定“代谢综合征（内脏脂肪综合征）”的初步组别，积极提供生活方式指导，旨在预防疾病并降低医疗费用。
目标群体为40~74岁的人群。代谢综合征是指内脏脂肪积累，同时伴有血压和甘油三酯等多种异常，使未来更容易发展心血管疾病。
在特定的健康检查中，会测量腹部周长以评估内脏脂肪的积累情况。

◎札幌・大阪・東京でバイオブランセミナーを開催しました。
当社は、１月27日、2月3日、2月17日にそれぞれ札幌、大阪、東京で「バイオブランセミナー」を開催しました。
当セミナーは主に薬局薬店経営者や薬剤師など専門家を対象としたもので各回とも活発な質問が相次ぎ、成功裏に終了いたしました。
遠藤雄三氏（浜松医科大学講師・医学博士）は上記３会場で「バイオブランの免疫強化、調整機能と抗炎症作用」と題して講演。発がんのキーワードとして炎症反応とそれに伴う活性酸素産生が重要と考えられるが、バイオブランはこれまでの研究により抗炎症作用、抗酸化作用、ＮＫ細胞をはじめとする免疫担当細胞の強化作用を有することから、がん免疫療法の可能性を示唆していること、また心臓や脳の虚血性疾患全般、深部静脈血栓症が血管内膜細胞の慢性炎症を基盤に起こるという仮説からも、バイオブランはがんに限らず生活習慣病全般にも応用できると考えられる、と結論づけました。
東京会場では吉本和夫氏(元自衛隊中央病院院長・医学博士）が「バイオブラン（米ぬかアラビノキシラン誘導体）の臨床例」と題して講演。早くから統合医療を取り入れた医療を実践してきた同氏は、バイオブランと月見草種子油を含むエポグランとの併用による医学的に興味深い症例を紹介しました。
バイオブランは、すでに41カ国で販売されている世界ブランドですが、当社としては、NKCP、米ケフィランについても、最新情報をセミナー等で積極的に情報提供し、薬局・薬店関係者、医療関係者等とのコミュニケーション強化に努めてまいります。
◎中東地域の大型展示会「Arab Health2008」に主要商品を出展しました。
中東地域の大型展示会「Arab Health 2008」が1月28～31日にアラブ首長国連邦（UAE）のドバイにて開催され（主催：IIR (Institute for International Research) Middle East）、当社は、現地の販売代理店と共同で「レンチンプラス1000」、「ＮＫＣＰ」（精製ナットウ菌培養物）、「米ケフィラン」（LK乳酸菌米培地生成物）を出展・紹介しました。
当展示会は医薬品、医療機器、健康食品などヘルスケアに関する世界最大規模の展示会で世界65カ国超から約2,400社が出展、約50,000人の来訪者がありました。
当社ブースへは医師、看護士などの病院関係者や栄養士の専門家やヘルスケア関連企業などが訪れ、特にUAEにおいて長年の販売実績を有する「レンチンプラス1000」に来訪者の関心が集まりました。
当社では今後も現地販売代理店やヨーロッパ現地法人と連携しながらアラブ諸国へさらなる販路拡大を目指します。
■統合医療新着情報
【２５】予防のための健診、4月に始まる
「特定健診・特定保健指導」という耳慣れない名前の健康診断制度が4月にスタートします。病気の早期発見を目的とした従来の健診ではなく、「メタボリックシンドローム（内臓脂肪症候群）」の予備群を拾い上げて積極的に生活指導をすることで、病気の予防、医療費の抑制につなげようというものです。
対象となるのは40～74歳の人。メタボとは、内臓脂肪の蓄積とともに血圧や中性脂肪などの複数の異常があり、将来、心血管病を発症しやすい状態のことです。
特定健診では、内臓脂肪の蓄積を判断するため、腹囲の計測があります。
分かれ目は男性85㎝・女性90㎝。ただ、それ以上がすぐに危険ということではなく、内臓脂肪と合わせて複数の異常（「血圧」「血糖」「脂質」「喫煙歴あり」の中で）があるかどうかがポイント。それらのうち2項目以上当てはまれば（あるいは85／90㎝未満でも、BMI＝注＝が25以上で、上記の異常が3項目以上あれば）特定保健指導として、医師や保健師らから食事や運動に関する指導を3カ月以上受けます。
ざっとこんな具合ですが、メタボの概念と特定健診制度については賛否両論があり、保健指導の実効性や医療費抑制に対する懐疑的な意見もあります。しかし、少なくとも「自分の健康は自分で守る」時代であることは確かです。

◎ Bio Bran seminars were held in Sapporo, Osaka, and Tokyo.
Our company held the "Bio Bran Seminar" in Sapporo, Osaka, and Tokyo on January 27, February 3, and February 17, respectively.
This seminar was mainly aimed at professionals such as pharmacy and pharmacy owners and pharmacists, and each session was met with lively questions and concluded successfully.
Yuzo Endo (Lecturer at Hamamatsu Medical University, Ph.D. in Medicine) gave a lecture titled "Immune Enhancement, Regulatory Function, and Anti-inflammatory Effects of Biobran in the three venues mentioned above." While inflammatory response and the production of associated reactive oxygen species are considered important keywords for cancer development, previous research suggests that Biobran possesses anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and immune cells such as NK cells, suggesting its potential as cancer immunotherapy. Furthermore, based on the hypothesis that ischemic diseases of the heart and brain and deep vein thrombosis are based on chronic inflammation of vascular endometrial cells, it was concluded that Biobran could be applied not only to cancer but also to lifestyle-related diseases in general.
At the Tokyo venue, Mr. Kazuo Yoshimoto (former Director of the Self-Defense Forces Central Hospital, Doctor of Medicine) gave a lecture titled "Clinical Cases of Biobran (rice bran arabinoxylane derivative)." Having practiced integrative medicine from early on, he introduced medically interesting cases combining Biobran with epogran, which contains evening primrose seed oil.
Biobran is already a global brand sold in 41 countries, but our company will actively provide the latest information about NKCP and Kefilan in the U.S. through seminars and other means, striving to strengthen communication with pharmacy and drugstore professionals, as well as medical professionals.
◎ Exhibited our main products at the major Middle East exhibition "Arab Health2008."
The large-scale Middle East exhibition "Arab Health 2008" was held in Dubai, UAE from January 28~31 (hosted by IIR (Institute for International Research) Middle East), where our company, in collaboration with local distributors, exhibited and introduced "Lentin Plus 1000," "NKCP" (purified Nut bacteria culture), and "Rice Kefiran" (LK lactic acid bacteria rice medium product).
This exhibition is the world's largest healthcare trade fair covering pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and health foods, with about 2,400 companies from over 65 countries exhibiting and approximately 50,000 visitors.
Our booth was visited by hospital professionals such as doctors and nurses, nutritionists, and healthcare companies, with particular interest in "Lentin Plus 1000," which has a long-standing sales record in the UAE.
Going forward, our company will continue to work with local sales agents and European subsidiaries to further expand our sales channels into Arab countries.
■ Latest Information on Integrated Medicine
[25] Preventive checkups begin in April
A health checkup system with the unfamiliar name "Specific Health Checkup and Specific Health Guidance" will start in April. Instead of traditional checkups aimed at early disease detection, the plan is to identify the preliminary group for "metabolic syndrome (visceral fat syndrome)" and actively provide lifestyle guidance, aiming to prevent illness and reduce medical expenses.
The target group is people aged 40~74. Metabolic syndrome refers to a condition characterized by accumulation of visceral fat along with multiple abnormalities such as blood pressure and triglycerides, making it easier to develop cardiovascular disease in the future.
In specific health checkups, abdominal circumference is measured to assess visceral fat accumulation.
The boundary is 85 cm for men and 90 cm for women. However, this does not mean that anything above that is immediately dangerous; the key point is whether there are multiple abnormalities (including "blood pressure," "blood sugar," "lipids," and "history of smoking") combined with visceral fat. If two or more of these criteria are met (or even if under 85/90 cm, if BMI = Note = is 25 or higher and there are three or more of the above abnormalities), you will receive specific health guidance from doctors or public health nurses regarding diet and exercise for at least three months.
That's roughly how it is, but there are mixed opinions about the concept of metabolic syndrome and the specific health checkup system, with skepticism about the effectiveness of health guidance and controlling medical expenses. However, at the very least, it is certain that we are now in an era where "you protect your own health."
