“食品开发展2007”（由CMP日本主办）于11月20日星期二~11月22日星期四在东京大观景点举办，我们公司展出了“生物麸皮”、“NKCP”以及用克菲尔菌培养成的稻米克菲兰产品。
该展览是亚洲规模最大的，拥有功能性食品成分的高水平专业知识，吸引了来自日本及亚洲各地约41,000名参与者。
这一次，我们的展位设计进行了彻底改造，并引入了关于“米饭开菲兰”抗动脉硬化效果的最新见解。
展览摊位吸引了许多亚洲游客，人们对“米开菲兰”提出了许多疑问，这种“米开菲兰”因其对代谢综合征的益处而闻名。

■ 综合医学最新信息
[22] 混合医疗与综合医学
自上个月以来，“混合医疗护理”一词突然成为媒体的热议。
这意味着将“由健康保险覆盖的医疗服务”和“非保险医疗服务”结合起来，用于治疗某种疾病。
然而，如果你在同一医疗机构接受这两种治疗，即使是本应由保险覆盖的治疗也会被排除（= 全额自费）。这就是“混合医疗治疗通常禁止”的原则（有例外）。例如，如果你接受了健康保险批准的化疗，但在同一医疗机构接受补充和替代医学以减少副作用和增强免疫力，你将全额承担化疗费用。
在接受“活化自身淋巴细胞疗法”（保险不覆盖）的患者肾癌治疗期间，患者提起诉讼寻求干扰素保险覆盖，声称保险治疗（干扰素治疗）不再覆盖。
去年11月，法院作出裁决，承认原告的主张，指出没有法律依据禁止混合医疗服务。
随着整合医学的重要性日益增长，将西医与补充和替代医学结合起来，如果可保项目需要全额自付，只有经济能力的人才能够获得整合医学。为了拓宽治疗选择并推广整合医学，明智的做法是允许保险覆盖的医疗服务结合使用。

11月20日，首次两党议员会议正式启动“健康食品问题研究组（暂定名称）”，为制定新的健康食品法做准备。
目前，日本没有专门针对健康食品的法律，且由于《药品事务法》等法规，无法披露其功效和效果的信息。

◎食品開発展2007にてＮＫＣＰ、米ケフィランの最新知見を発表
「食品開発展２００７」（ＣＭＰジャパン主催）が11月20日(火)～22日（木）、東京ビックサイトで開催され、当社は「バイオブラン」「ＮＫＣＰ」およびケフィア菌を米培地で培養した生成物「米ケフィラン」を出展しました。
この展示会は、機能性食品素材に関する専門性の高いアジア最大規模の展示会で期間中国内はもとよりアジア各国から約4万1000人と多くの参加者が集まりました。
当社は今回展示ブースのデザインを一新、「米ケフィラン」の抗動脈硬化作用に関する最新知見を紹介しました。
展示ブースにはアジアからの訪問者も多く、メタボリックシンドロームへの有用性が注目される「米ケフィラン」に関する質問が多く寄せられました。
さらに、ナットウ由来の血流改善素材「ＮＫＣＰ」について抗凝固、線溶作用に関する最新知見とＮＫＣＰ中の機能性タンパク質の定量法に関する２つのプレゼンテーションを実施（研究開発部長・加藤久宜）、ＮＫＣＰの血液溶解と凝固のバランス調整作用や摂取時の体感調査について紹介しました。また新技術として「ＮＫＣＰ」と従来混合することが難しかった酸性物質を混合せずに別々に2層のタブレットに加工した積層錠処方の試作品を紹介しました。
当社では、これに引き続き来年度もバイオブラン販売従事者を対象としたセミナーを数回に分けて実施するほか、海外展示会へも積極的に参加し、新しい販路を開拓してまいります。
■統合医療新着情報
【２２】混合診療と統合医療
先月から、にわかに「混合診療」という言葉がメディアをにぎわすようになりました。
ある病気の治療に「健康保険がきく医療」と「きかない医療」を併用することです。
ただし、両者を同じ医療機関で受けると、本来保険がきくはずの診療までもが保険外（＝全額自己負担）となってしまいます。これが「混合診療は原則禁止」というものです（例外あり）。例えば、健康保険で認められた抗がん剤治療を受けつつ、その副作用軽減や免疫力を高めるために同じ医療機関で補完代替医療を受けると、抗がん剤の費用は全額自己負担ということです。
腎臓がんの治療中に同じ病院で「活性化自己リンパ球療法」（保険適用外）を受けた人のケースでは、保険適用の治療（インターフェロン療法）が適用外になったとして、患者はインターフェロンの保険適用を求めて裁判に。
11月、「混合診療禁止の法的根拠はない」と原告の主張を認める判決がでました。
西洋医学的治療と補完代替医療を適切に組み合わせる統合医療の重要性が増している中で、保険がきくものが全額自己負担になるなら、経済的に余裕のある人しか統合医療を受けられなくなります。治療の選択の幅を広げ、統合医療を推進するには、保険診療との併用を認めていくことが得策といえるでしょう。

11月20日に健康食品の新法制定に向けて超党派議員による「健康食品問題研究会(仮称)」の正式発足に向けた初会合が開催されました。
現在日本では健康食品専門の法律が存在せず、薬事法等の規制によって効能効果に関する情報開示ができない状況です。
きちんとした法整備が行われ、健康食品の正しい効能効果が消費者の皆様に伝わり、さらに健康食品が健康維持、医療費削減に役立つようになればと思います。 当社も「e-健康かわら版」・ホームページにてさらなる健康情報の充実に努めてまいります。今後ともどうぞよろしくお願い申し上げます。

◎ At Food Development Exhibition 2007, NKCP presents latest knowledge on Kefiran in the U.S.
The "Food Development Exhibition 2007" (hosted by CMP Japan) was held at Tokyo Big Sight from Tuesday, November 20th ~ Thursday, November 22, where our company exhibited "Bio Bran," "NKCP," and the product "Rice Kefiran," which is cultivated from kefir bacteria on rice medium.
This exhibition is the largest in Asia with a high level of expertise in functional food ingredients, attracting approximately 41,000 participants from both Japan and across Asia.
This time, our exhibition booth design was completely revamped, and we introduced the latest insights on the anti-arteriosclerosis effects of 'rice kefiran.'
The exhibition booth attracted many visitors from Asia, and many questions were raised about "rice kefiran," which is notable for its benefits against metabolic syndrome.
Furthermore, regarding the blood flow improvement material "NKCP" derived from Nutto, we presented two presentations on the latest findings on anticoagulant and fibonytic effects, and on quantitative methods for functional proteins in NKCP (R&D Director Hisayoshi Kato), introducing the balancing effects of NKCP in blood lysis and coagulation, as well as a study on sensory effects upon intake. Additionally, as a new technology, we introduced a prototype of a laminated tablet formulation that processes acidic substances that were previously difficult to mix with "NKCP" into separate two-layer tablets without mixing them.
Following this, next fiscal year we will hold several seminars for bio-blan sales professionals, actively participate in overseas exhibitions, and continue to explore new sales channels.
■ Latest Information on Integrated Medicine
[22] Mixed Medical Care and Integrated Medicine
Since last month, the term "mixed medical care" has suddenly become a sensation in the media.
This means combining "medical care covered by health insurance" and "non-insured medical care" for treating a certain disease.
However, if you receive both treatments at the same medical institution, even treatments that should normally be covered by insurance become excluded (= fully self-paid). This is the principle of "mixed medical treatment is generally prohibited" (with exceptions). For example, if you receive chemotherapy approved by health insurance but receive complementary and alternative medicine at the same medical institution to reduce side effects and boost immunity, you will be fully responsible for the cost of the chemotherapy.
In cases where a person who received "activated autologous lymphocyte therapy" (not covered by insurance) at the same hospital during kidney cancer treatment, the patient filed a lawsuit seeking insurance coverage for interferon, claiming that the insured treatment (interferon therapy) was no longer covered.
In November, a ruling was issued recognizing the plaintiffs' claims, stating that there was no legal basis for prohibiting mixed medical care.
As the importance of integrative medicine that appropriately combines Western medical treatments with complementary and alternative medicine grows, if insurable items require full out-of-pocket payment, only those with financial means will be able to receive integrative medicine. To broaden treatment options and promote integrative medicine, it is wise to allow the use of insurance-covered medical care in combination.

On November 20, the first meeting of bipartisan lawmakers was held to officially launch the 'Health Food Issues Study Group (tentative name)' in preparation for the enactment of a new health food law.
Currently, there is no law specifically for health foods in Japan, and due to regulations such as the Pharmaceutical Affairs Act, it is not possible to disclose information about efficacy and effects.
We hope that proper legal frameworks will be established so that the correct efficacy and effects of health foods are communicated to consumers, and that health foods will help maintain health and reduce medical costs. Our company will also continue to strive to further enhance health information through the "e-Kenko Kawaraban" and website. We appreciate your continued support.
