我们公司开发了一种酶免疫分析法（ELISA方法），用于定量测量纯化纳豆菌培养物“NKCP”中所含的杆肽酶F。
我们将研究成果发表在《健康与营养食品研究》第9卷第3期第4期，2006年（由日本健康营养食品协会出版）。
该试验与同性医科大学合作进行，并与日本食品研究所等研究机构合作开展。
甲基糖皮酶F的氨基酸序列与甲状腺下肌苷不同，通常称为纳豆激酶。先前研究表明，含有β-α-γα
我公司开发的ELISA方法只能定量β-β蛋白酶F，通过与日本食品研究所及日本食品研究所合作进行验证测试，建议该测量方法可作为β-β蛋白酶F的定量方法，该功能成分。

♪ 为医生举办血栓预防讲座
6月2日，我们公司在长崎市为医生举办了讲座，由同京医科大学法医学系的市杉正人副教授发表了题为“血栓预防及功能性食品益处”的演讲。
市杉副教授以其对肺动脉血栓栓塞（PTE）的研究而闻名，这一病被称为“经济舱综合征”。他比较了日本和美国PTE的现状，分析指出虽然对突发死亡尸检死因的研究较美国少，但日本可能仍有许多未被诊断的PTE。
他引用了血液流变学的研究，解释说静坐两小时会显著增加小腿静脉的血粘度，从而形成血栓。
血栓引起的猝死难以早期发现，因此日常预防极为重要。因此，市杉副教授专注于通过饮食改善来预防的方法。
利用纳豆菌分泌的“β-β-肽酶F”（主要成分为β-κεγα-F）检测了对人类血液凝固纤维蛋白溶解参数的影响，并证实了抗凝和与血浆无关的纤溶作用。
此外，针对人类的临床试验显示，其纤维蛋白溶解活性增强，血液粘度降低，肩部僵硬减轻，因此得出“NKCP”有望成为预防血栓的有效物质。
在本次演讲中，市杉副教授表示，他希望通过临床试验进一步阐明已被证实有效的巴提罗普酶F的作用机制，并总结道，科学分析和验证功能性食品的疗效，澄清证据对消费者同样重要。

[17] 摘自美国肿瘤学会
在六月初于芝加哥举行的美国临床肿瘤学会（ASCO）会议上，有一场关于放疗与抗氧化剂结合的著名报告。
放疗和某些抗癌药物利用体内暴露于这些药物时产生的细胞毒性来治疗癌症。
这意味着人们担心某些维生素或其他抗氧化补充与替代疗法（CAM）可能抵消放疗和抗癌药物的效果。
在同一会议上，一份比较了接受CAM联合组（69名患者）和非联合组（56名患者）接受放疗的前列腺癌患者治疗效果的报告。
这里，CAM被定义为至少含有一种抗氧化物质（绿茶提取物、褪黑素、高效综合维生素）。
观察约两年半PSA检测值的趋势，两组之间无差异，结果显示联合CAM并未抑制辐射效应。
然而，关于这一问题存在各种不同意见，尚未得出明确结论。至少可以确定的是，即使在像ASCO这样的西方医学学会中，西医与补充与替代医学的整合也在被讨论。

◎NKCPの測定法に関する論文を発表
当社は精製ナットウ菌培養物「NKCP」に含まれるバチロペプチダーゼＦを定量するために、酵素免疫測定法（ELISA法）を開発。
その成果を、「健康・栄養食品研究vol.9, No.3/4, 2006」（(財)日本健康・栄養食品協会発行）で発表しました。
今回の試験は、獨協医科大学との共同で、（財）日本食品分析センター等の研究機関の協力のもとで実施しました。
バチロペプチダーゼＦは、いわゆるナットウキナーゼと呼ばれるサブチリシンとはアミノ酸配列が異なるもので、これまでの研究により、バチロペプチダーゼＦを含む「NKCP」が①線溶作用だけではなく、②抗凝固作用、③血液粘度低下作用（トリプルファンクション）を有することが明らかになっており、両者を区別し、正確で簡単に測定する方法が求められていました。
当社が開発したELISA法はバチロペプチダーゼFだけを定量することが可能であり、定量性に関するバリデーション（※)試験を日本食品分析センターと共同で実施した結果、本測定法は特定の機能性成分であるバチロペプチダーゼＦの定量法として使用可能であることが示唆されました。
（※バリデーション…手順、製品、試験法などが期待される結果を与えることを検証する作業をいいます。）
◎ドクターを対象として血栓症予防に関する講演会を開催
当社は6月2日、長崎市でドクターを対象とした講演会を開催、獨協医科大学法医学教室の一杉正仁准教授が、「血栓症予防と機能性食品の効能」と題して講演しました。
一杉准教授は、いわゆる”エコノミークラス症候群”と称される肺動脈血栓塞栓症（PTE）の研究で知られていますが、PTEの現状を日米で比較し、日本はアメリカに比べて突然死例の剖検による死因研究は少ないが、診断されないPTEは実際には数多く存在するだろう、と分析。
突然死の原因として、血液レオロジーの研究を引き合いに出して、2時間の安静座位が下腿静脈の血液粘度を有意に上昇させ、これが血栓の原因となる、と解説しました。
血栓症による突然死については早期発見が難しく、日ごろの予防が非常に重要であることから、一杉准教授は食生活の改善による予防法に着目。
納豆菌が分泌する「バチロペプチダーゼＦ」を主成分とする「ＮＫＣＰ」を用いて、ヒト血液の凝固線溶パラメーターに対する作用を検討し、抗凝固作用、プラスミン非依存性の線溶作用が確認されたと報告。
また、ヒトを対象とした臨床実験で、線溶活性の亢進、血液粘度の低下と肩こりの低減作用が認められたことから、「ＮＫＣＰ」が血栓症予防の有効な物質として期待される、と結論づけました。
今回の発表にあたり、一杉准教授は、効果が認められたバチロペプチダーゼＦの作用機序について、今後も臨床試験により新たな解明を進めたい、とした上で、機能性食品の効用を科学的に分析・検証しそのエビデンスを明らかにすることは、消費者にとっても重要である、と結びました。
◎現地法人DHD EUROPEが、スイスの国際展示会に出展
当社のヨーロッパ現地法人、DHD EUROPE(イギリス）は、5月8日～10日にスイス・ジュネーブGeneva Palexpoで開催されたVitafoods Internationalに参加しました。
このショーには世界各国から約400の企業が出展し、入場者は2日間で延べおよそ5000人を数えました。
DHD EUROPEでは、ブランド告知と新規代理店の開拓を目的とし、バイオブラン、NKCP、米ケフィランを出品、特にバイオブランについては販売実績が世界40カ国に達成し、国内外のエビデンスも豊富に蓄積されていることから、期間中予想以上の反響があり、盛況のうちに終了しました。
同社は現地の販売強化だけではなく、地元の大学や研究機関などと共同研究や情報の交換を積極的に行っており、今後もヨーロッパ各国の国情やマーケットに合わせたセールスプロモーションを適宜展開していく予定です。
◎HFE JAPAN 2007に出展、「ＮＫＣＰ」のプレゼンテーション実施
第５回ヘルスフードエキスポ（HFE JAPAN 2007）が５月３０日（水）～６月１日（金）の３日間、東京ビッグサイトで開催され（主催：食品化学新聞社、後援：厚生労働省、農林水産省等）、当社は、主要商品の出品のほか、出展者プレゼンテーションで、研究者や医療機関等から注目されているナットウプロテアーゼ（ＮＫＣＰ）について、新しい成果を発表しました。

NPO法人日本食品機能研究会（JAFRA）では、７月29日（日）に、東京・丸ビルホールで「健康フォーラム２００７」を開催します。
同研究会は、海外ワークショップやインターネット、出版等によって食品素材や健康関連の情報発信といった活動を続け、昨年9月に内閣府からNPO法人として認可されました。

【１７】米国の腫瘍学会から
６月初めにシカゴで開かれた米国臨床腫瘍学会（ＡＳＣＯ）で、放射線療法と抗酸化物質の併用をめぐる注目すべき発表がありました。
放射線や一部の抗がん剤は、それらにさらされることで体内で発生する活性酸素の細胞障害力を用いて、がんを治療するものです。
ということは、ある種のビタミンなど抗酸化作用のある補完代替医療（ＣＡＭ）を併用すると、放射線や抗がん剤の作用が打ち消されてしまうのではないかという懸念があります。
同学会では、放射線療法を受けている前立腺がん患者について、ＣＡＭ併用群（69名）と非併用群（56名）の治療効果を比べた報告がありました。
ここでのＣＡＭは、抗酸化作用がある物質（緑茶エキス、メラトニン、高力価マルチビタミン）を最低1種類含むものとしました。
およそ2年半にわたってＰＳＡという検査値の推移を見ると、両群に差はなく、ＣＡＭを併用しても放射線の効果を阻害しないという結果でした。
もっとも、この問題についてはさまざまな意見があり、まだはっきりとした結論が出ていません。少なくとも、ＡＳＣＯのような西洋医学の学会でも、西洋医学とＣＡＭの統合のあり方が話題に上るのは確かなようです。

◎ Published a paper on NKCP measurement methods
Our company has developed an enzyme immunoassay (ELISA method) to quantitatively measure batyropeptidase F contained in purified natto-bacterium culture 'NKCP.'
We presented the results in the "Health and Nutrition Food Research vol.9, No.3/4, 2006" (published by the Japan Health and Nutrition Food Association).
This trial was conducted in collaboration with Dokkyo Medical University and with the cooperation of research institutions such as the Japan Food Research Laboratories.
Batyropepidase F has a different amino acid sequence from subthyricine, commonly known as nattokinase. Previous studies have revealed that "NKCP" containing batyropepidase F possesses (1) not only fibrinolytic action, but also (2) anticoagulant effects and (3) blood viscosity-reducing effects (triple function). Therefore, there has been a need to distinguish between the two and find an accurate and easy method to measure them.
The ELISA method developed by our company can quantify only batyropeptidase F, and as a result of conducting validation tests with the Japan Food Research Laboratories in collaboration with the Japan Food Research Laboratories, it was suggested that this measurement method can be used as a quantitative method for batyropeptidase F, a specific functional component.

◎ Lecture on thrombosis prevention held for doctors
On June 2, our company held a lecture for doctors in Nagasaki City, where Associate Professor Masahito Ichisugi from the Department of Forensic Medicine at Dokkyo Medical University gave a talk titled "Prevention of Thrombosis and the Benefits of Functional Foods."
Associate Professor Ichisugi is known for his research on pulmonary artery thromboembolism (PTE), known as "economy class syndrome." He compared the current state of PTE between Japan and the United States, analyzing that while there is less research on causes of death by autopsy of sudden deaths compared to the U.S., there are likely many undiagnosed PTEs in Japan.
He cited research on blood rheology as a cause of sudden death, explaining that sitting still for two hours significantly increases the blood viscosity of the lower leg veins, which leads to blood clots.
Sudden death due to thrombosis is difficult to detect early, making daily prevention extremely important. Therefore, Associate Professor Ichisugi focuses on preventive methods through dietary improvements.
Using "NKCP," whose main component is "batyropeptidase F" secreted by natto bacteria, the effect on human blood coagulation fibrinolysis parameters was examined, and anticoagulation and plasmin-independent fibrinolytic effects were confirmed.
Furthermore, clinical trials conducted on humans showed increased fibrinolytic activity, reduced blood viscosity, and reduced shoulder stiffness, leading to the conclusion that "NKCP" is expected to be an effective substance for thrombosis prevention.
In this presentation, Associate Professor Ichisugi stated that he hopes to further elucidate the mechanism of action of batyropetase F, which has proven effectiveness, through clinical trials, and concluded that scientifically analyzing and verifying the efficacy of functional foods and clarifying the evidence is also important for consumers.

Our European subsidiary, DHD EUROPE (UK), participated in Vitafoods International held at Geneva Palexpo in Geneva, Switzerland, from May 8~10.
About 400 companies from around the world exhibited at this show, and the total number of visitors over two days was approximately 5,000.
At DHD EUROPE, we exhibited BioBran (BioBran Brand), NKCP, and U.S. Kephilan (USA) with brand promotion and new distributor development. In particular, Biobran achieved sales in 40 countries worldwide and accumulated abundant domestic and international evidence, resulting in a response exceeding expectations during the period and concluding successfully.
The company not only strengthens local sales but also actively conducts joint research and information exchange with local universities and research institutions, and plans to continue rolling out sales promotions tailored to the national conditions and markets of each European country as needed.

The NPO Japan Food Function Research Association (JAFRA) will hold the "Health Forum 2007" on Sunday, July 29, at the Marunouchi Building Hall in Tokyo.
The association continues activities such as disseminating information on food ingredients and health through overseas workshops, the Internet, and publications. In September of last year, it was officially recognized as an NPO by the Cabinet Office.

■ New Information on Integrative Medicine
[17] From the American Society of Clinical Oncology
At the beginning of June, at the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) held in Chicago, there was a noteworthy presentation on the combination of radiation therapy and antioxidants.
Radiation and some anticancer drugs utilize the cell-damaging effect of reactive oxygen species generated in the body to treat cancer.
This raises concerns that combining complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) with antioxidant properties, such as certain vitamins, might cancel out the effects of radiation or anticancer drugs.
At the same conference, a report compared the treatment effects on prostate cancer patients undergoing radiation therapy between the CAM combination group (69 people) and the non-combination group (56 people).
Here, CAM included substances with antioxidant properties (green tea extract, melatonin, high-potency multivitamins) at least one of them.
After about two and a half years of monitoring PSA values, no difference was observed between the two groups, indicating that combining CAM does not inhibit the effect of radiation.
However, various opinions exist on this matter, and no clear conclusion has been reached. At the very least, it is clear that even at Western medicine conferences like ASCO, the integration of Western medicine and CAM is a topic of discussion.
