去年九月发布的第一期《e-Kenko Kawara-ban》因大家的支持而获得好评，我们很高兴在此呈现第五期。

■ 无限扩展的可能性 ~Bio Blanc~
研发部主管前田浩明（BioBran开发者）
Biobran被开发为一种能可靠调节免疫力的食物。
换句话说，你摄入的Biobran成分经过加工，能在几小时内到达白细胞，帮助调节免疫。
这些成分在普通食品中很少见。
据说许多蘑菇会影响免疫，但这种影响是它们直接接触白细胞时产生的。
然而，蘑菇成分即使被食用也无法到达白细胞。
其他机制的影响也在考虑中，但证据不足。
Biobran最初是为了调节免疫而开发的，但近年来越来越多的研究表明，其效果是更广泛脊椎指压防御的一部分。越来越多的研究者认为，几乎所有疾病和身体中的不良现象都是由于过度炎症引起的。现在已经明确，抑制过度炎症在预防和改善癌症、传染病以及生活方式相关疾病中起着重要作用。Biobran被认为是一种有价值的功能性食品，有助于抑制过度炎症并维持高水平的健康水平。

12月2日星期二和12月3日星期三，筑波工厂对目前被认为是世界上最严格的综合卫生管理体系“HACCP*”进行了最终审核，并获得了认证。自2000年4月投产以来，筑波工厂引入了符合HACCP标准的系统，旨在追求更高质量，并打造“最先进的微生物培养设备”。
为了实现特别稳定、高质量的培养，我们监测环境并自动测量和调整pH值和温度。
关于污水处理，我们严格遵守筑波地区的严格标准，实施了彻底的管理，使工厂更加注重环保。未来，秉持HACCP“在每个制造阶段实施危害预防措施，确保食品供应100%安全”的精神，我们也计划在这里开发利用微生物的酶和蛋白质，二宫康夫社长如是说。
*什么是HACCP？
它代表危险分析关键控制点，日语称为“危险分析关键控制点”。HACCP最初由美国NASA创建，旨在确保航天食品的安全。
与传统的采样管理方法不同，该系统的目标是在制造的每个阶段——从原材料进入点到产品出口点——实施危害预防措施，以提供100%安全的食品。

在12月4日星期四和12月5日星期五在富山市丰山国际会议中心举行的第16届日本生物治疗学会年会上，我们公司以“稻麸阿拉伯诺基葞衍生物（Biobran）对生理功能的影响”进行了报告。
近年来，Bio Bran被国内外医疗机构越来越广泛采用，我们研究了表现出多种效果的成分，包括免疫调节作用（如活化巨噬细胞和NK细胞）、抑制癌细胞生长、清除活性氧物质以及血糖调节。
因此，Biobran 所展现的多样功能被认为是由其自身所含的多种不同化合物所致。

在第三届国际食品因子会议（ICoFF-3）上发表

第三届食品因子国际会议（ICoFF-3）于2003年12月1日（周一）~4日（周四）在东京日本城市中心大厅举行，我们公司积极参与。我们介绍了BioBran（NKCP）和稻米开菲兰，后者在农业林业渔业省资助下进行了五年研究。
本次会议主题为“膳食生理功能与疾病风险降低”，得到了厚生劳动省、文部科学省、文部科学省、农林渔业省，以及日本医学会、日本内科学会和日本药学会等多方组织的支持。会议期间，有前沿研究成果的展示和功能性食品因子的信息交流，以及基于科学基础的有效性积极演讲和讨论。
我们公司以“米糠提取物水解液对老年人免疫激活对感冒综合征免疫激活的预防作用”为题，在NKCP上介绍了“纯化坚果菌培养NKCP对血液凝固和纤维蛋白溶解系统的影响”。此外，关于稻米开菲兰，我们介绍了《黏液多糖凯菲兰对脂质、血压、血糖和便秘的影响》，并宣布动物生理活性测试证实其在米凯菲兰组中对脂质代谢、降血压、血糖降低和肠道调节具有有效作用。
未来，公司计划加快生产稻米开菲兰作为一种新的植物基功能性食品成分，并生产含克菲兰的定型饮料和粉末。
♬ 第七届生活方式疾病控制研究小组关于生物麸皮安全性与有效性的报告

在11月29日星期六于东京大手町产经广场举行的第七届生活方式疾病控制研究会议上，我们公司介绍了主要研发材料Biobran（稻糠阿拉伯诺基烷衍生物）。
本次题为《Biobran作为具有免疫调节作用的功能性食品安全性与有效性的证据》的报告，报告了迄今为止关于生物品牌功能性食品安全性和有效性的科学证据水平，并获得了与会者的高度赞扬。
目前在日本，关于功能性食品的要求和科学证据的必要性仍在持续争论，但目前尚无明确的定义或指导方针。
我们公司旨在将Bio Bran定位为一种高度安全的生物反应修饰剂（BRM），口服时能证明其有效性，该材料已在国内外10多篇论文和30多个学术会议上发表。
Bio Bran 以营养补充品品牌“Lentin Plus”进行商业化，公司计划进一步专注于为国内外医院和诊所提供服务。

本次题为《米糠、阿拉伯诺基兰和鲨鱼脂提取物在癌症替代疗法中的效果》的演讲由银座圣埃斯佩罗大森诊所的大森隆博士主讲，他认为米糠阿拉伯诺基衍生物（Biobran）与鲨鱼提取物脂质的结合可能带来互补的替代医学效果。

第五节：衰老、肠道细菌与免疫力之间的密不可分关系
益生菌和益生元这两个术语在媒体上引起了广泛关注。
前者是与抗生素结合的概念，被描述为“通过改善肠道微生物群平衡，有益宿主的活微生物”。
后者是帮助益生菌在肠道中繁殖的成分，如寡糖。
据说人体含有100万亿个肠道菌群，约相当于1公斤肠道菌群。
正如你所知，肠道菌包括有益菌（如双歧杆菌和乳酸杆菌）和有害菌（如边缘梭菌和葡萄球菌），以及机会性细菌，这些细菌在平衡环境中共存。
因此，即使体内存在“坏细菌”，也不是问题。
肠道微生物群因过度劳累、压力和饮食失衡而发生变化。
短期变化没问题，但随着年龄增长，微生物群逐渐变化，有益细菌如双歧杆菌减少，产生显性有害细菌。
因此，肠道的免疫能力会下降，容易受到细菌和病毒的感染。
相反，也有报告显示摄取乳酸菌饮料可提高NK细胞活性，所以通过食品或保健品维持肠道菌群的良好状态，作为抗衰老措施是合理的。
市面上有许多特定保健食品，例如即使是同样的乳酸菌，不同的基因或菌种也不同，因此可以轮流尝试几周，选择最适合自己的产品，这是关键。

新年明けましておめでとうございます。
昨年の9月に第一号を配信いたしました「e-健康かわら版」はおかげさまで好評をいただき、ここに第5号をお届けすることができました。
購読者数も回を重ねるごとに増え、順調に推移しておりますことをご報告するとともに皆様のご支持に感謝申し上げます。
さて、今年の干支は甲申（こうしん、きのえ・さる）ですが、「甲」は新しい事の始まりを意味しており、また「申」はまっすぐに伸びる様子を表わしているそうです。
当社も農水省との5年間にわたる共同研究（米ケフィラン）が昨年無事終了し、今年は申年に因んでこの新素材を上市してどんどん成長させたいと思っております。
また、新製品の開発はもちろん企業の大きな命題ですが、製品の安全性の確保はさらに重要です。
当社はすでにISO9001の認定を取得（2002年末）しておりますが、昨年はこれに引き続きHACCP認定工場となりました。
これで当社は国際的に通用する安全基準をクリアしたことになります。
豊富なエビデンスに裏付けられた新製品と、安全性の追求に対する絶え間ない努力こそが企業の使命であると信じ、今後も皆様にご満足いただける製品とサービスを提供して参りますので、本年もどうぞよろしくお願い申し上げます。

■無限に広がる可能性～バイオブラン～
研究開発部長 前田浩明(バイオブラン開発者)
バイオブランは「食べて確実に免疫力を調節する食品」として開発されました。
即ち食べたバイオブラン成分が数時間後には白血球に到達し、免疫力を調節するように加工されています。
このような成分は普通の食物中には滅多に存在しません。
多くのキノコ類が免疫力に影響を与えるといわれていますが、それは直接白血球と接触させた場合の効果です。
しかしながらキノコの成分は食べても白血球には届きません。
別のメカニズムでの効果が考えられていますが、充分な証拠がありません。
さて、バイオブランは免疫力の調節を目的として開発されましたが、近年研究が進むにつれてその作用はもっと広範囲な整体防御作用の一部であることが証明されつつあります。多くの疾病や生体の不都合な現象は殆んどすべて過剰な炎症と考える研究者が増えています。癌や感染症および生活習慣病の予防と改善に過剰な炎症の抑制が重要な役割を演じることが明らかになっています。 バイオブランは過剰な炎症を抑え、高い健康度を維持することを助ける貴重な機能性食品であると考えます。

弊社の活動や関連イベントについてお知らせします。
◎つくば工場のHACCP認証取得。
――― 大和薬品（株）
12月2日(火)、3日(水)、弊社つくば工場において、現在世界で最も厳格だとされる総合衛生管理システム「HACCP(ハサップ)※」の本審査が実施され、この度認証を取得いたしました。つくば工場は、2000年4月の稼動時からHACCP対応のシステムを導入してより高品質を目指し、「微生物培養の最新の設備」を作りあげてまいりました。
特に安定した高品質の培養を得るために、状況を監視し、pHや温度の自動測定と調整を行なっています。
また、排水については、つくば地域の厳しい基準値をクリヤした上に、徹底した管理を実施し、環境を考慮した工場となっています。 将来的には、「製造工程ごとに危害防止策を講じ、100％安全な食品を供給する」とのHACCPの精神に則り、微生物を利用した酵素やたんぱく質等の開発もここで手掛けたい（二宮泰夫社長）としています。
※HACCP(ハサップ)とは
Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point の略で、日本語では「危害分析重要管理点」となります。HACCPはもともと、アメリカのNASAで宇宙食の安全性を保障するために作られた手法です。
従来の抜き取り方式の管理方法とは異なり、原料の段階(入口)から製品の時点(出口)まで、製造の各工程ごとに危害防止策を講じ、100％安全な食品を供給しようというのがこのシステムの狙いです。
◎「米ぬかアラビノキシラン誘導体（バイオブラン）の生理的機能における効果」について発表

12月4日（木）、5日（金）にと富山市・富山国際会議場で開催された第16回日本バイオセラピー学会学術集会総会において、弊社は、「米ぬかアラビノキシラン誘導体（バイオブラン）の生理的機能における効果」と題した発表を行ないました。
このところ内外の医療機関での採用が増えているバイオブランについて、マクロファージの活性化やNK細胞の活性化を含めた免疫調節作用、がん細胞の増殖抑制効果、活性酸素消去能、血糖調節作用など、多様な効果を示す成分について検討したものです。
その結果、バイオブランの示す多様な働きは、バイオブランに含まれるいくつかの異なる化合物によるものであると示唆されました。
◎バイオブラン、NKCP、ケフィランの主力３商品
について、第３回国際フードファクター会議(ICoFF－3)で発表

機能性食品因子（フードファクター）に携わる世界の研究者が集まる「第３回国際フードファクター会議（The 3rd International Conference on Food Factors 略称：ICoFF－3）が、2003年12月1日(月)～4日(木)、東京・日本都市センター会館で開催されましたが、弊社ではこれに積極的に参加。バイオブラン、NKCP、それに農林水産省の助成をうけて５年間にわたって研究した米ケフィランについて発表を行ないました。
「食の生理機能と疾病リスク低減」をメインテーマに掲げた今回の会議は、厚生労働省、文部科学省、農林水産省のほか、日本医師会、日本内科学会、日本薬学会など多くの後援によるものですが、会期中機能性食品因子に関する最先端の研究成果発表と情報交換のほか、作用性について科学的な基盤の下で活発な発表・討議が行なわれました。
弊社はバイオブランについては「米ぬかエキス水解物の免疫賦活作用による高齢者に対するかぜ症候群予防効果」、NKCPについては「精製ナットウ菌培養物NKCPの、血液凝固・線溶系におよぼす影響について」と題して発表しました。また米ケフィランについては、「粘質性多糖ケフィランの脂質、血圧、血糖、便秘におよぼす効果について」と題して発表し、動物に対する生理作用試験において、米ケフィラン投与群に、脂質代謝、血圧降下、血糖低下、及び整腸に対する有用性が確認されたことを発表しました。
弊社は今後米ケフィランを新しい植物由来の機能性食品材料として、形状的に安定したケフィラン含有飲料および粉末の製造を本格化する予定です。
◎バイオブランの安全性と有用性について第７回生活習慣病対策研究会で発表

11月29日（土）に東京・大手町サンケイプラザで開催された第７回生活習慣病対策研究会で、弊社は、主力開発素材であるバイオブラン（米ぬかアラビノキシラン誘導体）について発表を行ないました。
今回の発表は、「免疫調節作用を有する食品バイオブランのfunctional foodとしての安全性と有効性に関するevidence」と題して、現在までに立証してきたfunctional foodとしての安全性と有効性についてのscientific evidenceの水準を報告したもので、出席者から高い評価を受けました。
現在日本において、functional foodとしての条件やscientific evidenceについては、その必要性が論議されていますが、確たる定義やガイドラインが存在しないのが現状です。
弊社では、バイオブランについて、経口摂取により効果を発揮する安全性の高いBRM(Biological Response Modifier)としての位置付けをめざしていますが、この素材については既に国内外で10を超す論文と30を超す学会発表がされています。
バイオブランについては、栄養補助食品「レンチンプラス」のブランドで商品化していますが、同社では、今後国内外の病医院向けにもいっそう注力していきたいとしています。
◎バイオブランについて第７回ＪＡＣＴ大会２００３（神戸）で発表。

「第三の医学・統合医療をめざして」をスローガンに掲げる日本代替・相補・伝統医療連合会議の「第７回ＪＡＣＴ大会２００３（神戸）」が、12月20日(土)・21日(日)、神戸国際会議場で開催され、一般演題で米ぬかアラビノキシラン誘導体（バイオブラン）についての発表がありました。
「ガンの代替療法における米ぬかアラビノキシランとサメ脂質抽出物の効果」と題したこの発表は、大森隆史氏（銀座サンエスペロ大森クリニック）によるもので、大森氏の発表によれば、米ぬかアラビノキシラン誘導体（バイオブラン）とサメ抽出脂質の組み合わせは、代替医療的な補完を行なう可能性がある、と結論づけています。

今年の年末・年始休暇は長い方で9連休。
近年はご自宅でお過ごしになる方も多いと聞きます。
ところで、朝日新聞や読売新聞など主要な新聞各社のサイトの「健康」や「医療」のページをご覧になられたことはありますか？
寒い時期は外出するのがおっくうとなり、「こたつの中でテレビを見ながらゴロゴロ過ごそうか」などと考えがちですが、そのような人に限って肥満や糖尿病につながりやすいという研究結果が海外で報告されました（【毎日健康ひろば】より）。
このような、気になる情報・役に立つ情報が満載です。
これからますます寒くなってまいります。お体には十分気をつけてくださいね。
■連載シリーズ・・・コラム アンチエイジング(全6回)
第5回 加齢・腸内細菌・免疫の切っても切れない関係
プロバイオティクス、プレバイオティクスという言葉がマスコミをにぎわせています。
前者は、アンチバイオティクス（抗生物質）と対をなす概念で、「腸内細菌叢のバランスを改善することで、宿主に有益な作用をもたらす生きた微生物」とされています。
後者は、プロバイオティクスが腸内で増殖するのを助ける成分で、オリゴ糖などがこれにあたります。
ヒトの体には、100兆個、重さにすると約１kgの腸内細菌が棲みついているといわれています。
ご存知のように腸内細菌には善玉菌（ビフィズス菌、乳酸桿菌など）と悪玉菌（ウェルシュ菌、ブドウ球菌など）、そのどちらにもなる日和見菌があり、それらはバランスを取りながら共生しています。
そのため、「悪玉菌」が体内にいても問題にならないわけです。
腸内細菌叢は過労、ストレス、偏食などによって変化します。
短期的な変化ならよいのですが、加齢によって徐々に細菌叢は変化し、ビフィズス菌などの善玉菌が減って、悪玉菌優勢に変わっていきます。
すると、腸管での免疫能が低下し、細菌やウイルスに感染しやすくなると考えられています。
逆に、乳酸菌飲料の摂取で、NK活性が上昇するという報告もありますから、食品やサプリメントで腸内細菌叢を良好に保つのは、アンチエイジングとして合理的です。
特定保健用食品が数多く市販されていますが、例えば同じ乳酸菌でも遺伝子や菌の正体が異なるため、何週間か順番に試してみて自分に合ったものを選ぶのがコツです。

Biobran was developed as a food that reliably regulates immunity when eaten.
In other words, the Biobran components you eat are processed to reach white blood cells within a few hours and help regulate immunity.

On Tuesday, December 2nd and Wednesday, December 3rd, our Tsukuba Factory conducted the final audit for the comprehensive hygiene management system "HACCP*," which is currently considered the strictest in the world, and we have obtained certification. Since operations began in April 2000, the Tsukuba Factory has introduced a HACCP-compliant system, aiming for higher quality and building "state-of-the-art microbial culture equipment."
To achieve particularly stable, high-quality cultures, we monitor conditions and automatically measure and adjust pH and temperature.
Regarding wastewater, we have strictly met the strict standards of the Tsukuba region and implemented thorough management, making our factory environmentally conscious. In the future, in line with the HACCP spirit of 'implementing hazard prevention measures at every manufacturing stage to supply 100% safe food,' we also aim to develop enzymes and proteins using microorganisms here, according to President Yasuo Ninomiya.
*What is HACCP?
It stands for Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point, and in Japanese it is called "Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point." HACCP was originally created by NASA in the United States to ensure the safety of space food.
Unlike the traditional sampling management method, the aim of this system is to implement hazard prevention measures at every stage of manufacturing—from the raw material entry point to the product point (exit)—to supply 100% safe food.

At the 16th Annual Meeting of the Japan Biotherapy Society held on Thursday, December 4 and Friday, December 5, at the Toyama International Conference Center in Toyama City, our company presented on the topic "Effects of Rice Bran Arabinoxylane Derivative (Biobran) on Physiological Functions."
Recently, Bio Bran has been increasingly adopted by medical institutions both domestically and internationally, and we examined components that exhibit a variety of effects, including immunomodulatory effects including activation of macrophages and NK cells, inhibition of cancer cell growth, scavenging of reactive oxygen species, and blood sugar regulation.
As a result, the diverse functions demonstrated by Biobran were suggested to be due to several different compounds contained in Biobran itself.

The 3rd International Conference on Food Factors (ICoFF-3), which brings together researchers from around the world involved in functional food factors, was held December 1 (Mon) ~ 4 (Thu), 2003, at the Japan Urban Center Hall in Tokyo, and our company actively participated. We presented on BioBran (NKCP), and rice kefiran, which we studied over five years with funding from the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries.
This conference, themed "Dietary Physiological Functions and Disease Risk Reduction," was supported by many organizations including the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, as well as the Japan Medical Association, the Japanese Society of Internal Medicine, and the Japanese Pharmaceutical Society. During the conference, there were presentations of cutting-edge research findings and information exchange on functional food factors, as well as active presentations and discussions on their efficacy based on a scientific foundation.
Our company presented on Biobran under the title "Preventive Effects of Rice Bran Extract Hydrolysate on Immune Activation for Cold Syndrome in the Elderly," and on NKCP, "Effects of Purified Nut Bacteria Culture NKCP on Blood Coagulation and Fibrinolytic System." Additionally, regarding rice kefiran, we presented "Effects of Mucous Polysaccharide Kephyran on Lipids, Blood Pressure, Blood Sugar, and Constipation," and announced that physiological activity tests in animals confirmed its usefulness in the rice kefiran group for lipid metabolism, blood pressure reduction, blood sugar reduction, and intestinal regulation.
Going forward, our company plans to accelerate the production of rice kefiran as a new plant-based functional food ingredient and to manufacture shape-stable kefiran-containing beverages and powders.

At the 7th Lifestyle Disease Control Research Meeting held at Sankei Plaza in Otemachi, Tokyo, on Saturday, November 29, our company presented on our main developed material, Biobran (rice bran arabinoxylane derivative).
This presentation, titled "Evidence on the Safety and Efficacy of Biobran as a Functional Food with Immunomodulatory Effects," reported the level of scientific evidence on the safety and efficacy of bio-branded functional foods as demonstrated so far, and received high praise from attendees.
Currently in Japan, there is ongoing debate about the requirements for functional food and the necessity of scientific evidence, but there is no clear definition or guideline in the current situation.
Our company aims to position Bio Bran as a highly safe BRM (Biological Response Modifier) that demonstrates efficacy when taken orally, and this material has already been published in over 10 papers and more than 30 academic conferences both domestically and internationally.

Session 5: The Inseparable Relationship Between Aging, Gut Bacteria, and Immunity
The terms probiotics and prebiotics are making waves in the media.
The former is a concept paired with antibiotics, described as "living microorganisms that benefit the host by improving the balance of the gut microbiota."
The latter are components that help probiotics multiply in the intestines, such as oligosaccharides.
It is said that the human body contains 100 trillion gut bacteria, which amounts to about 1 kg of gut bacteria.
As you know, gut bacteria include good bacteria (such as bifidobacteria and lactobacilli) and harmful bacteria (such as Clostridium perfringer and Staphylococcus), as well as opportunistic bacteria that can be both, and these bacteria coexist in a balanced environment.
Therefore, even if "bad bacteria" are present in the body, it is not a problem.
The gut microbiome changes due to overwork, stress, and unbalanced eating.
Short-term changes are fine, but as we age, the microbiota gradually shifts, and beneficial bacteria like bifidobacteria decrease, giving rise to dominant harmful bacteria.
It is thought that this leads to a decrease in immune function in the intestines, making it easier to become infected with bacteria and viruses.
On the other hand, there are also reports that consuming lactic acid bacteria beverages increases NK cell activity, so maintaining a healthy gut microbiota with food and supplements is reasonable for anti-aging.
