我们的美国本地子公司大和健康发展（DHD USA）于3月23日至26日在阿纳海姆会议中心举办的为期三天的Natural Product Expo West展出。
该展览是美国规模最大的天然食品展览，此次共有3000家公司参展，吸引了创纪录的43000名参观者。
在DHD USA，我们展示了去年七月推出的Bio Bran新产品PeakImmune4，旨在进一步提升认知度并提升配送率，许多人热情地向我们提问。

[4] 绿茶预防痴呆的潜力
你们今天喝了多少杯绿茶？
如果你继续保持喝两杯或更多咖啡的习惯，可能有助于预防痴呆症。
东北大学研究团队对此抱有很高的期望。
对1000名70岁及以上男女进行了茶叶和咖啡消费的调查。
此外，参与者还参加了一项（满分30分）的测试，以评估认知功能，如背诵产品名称和进行计算。结果显示，饮用绿茶频率增加与认知下降有关。
换句话说，认知衰退（得分低于26）的人群比例显著低于每天喝两杯酒的人，而那些“每周喝三杯或更少饮酒”的人。

◎米国現地法人DHD USA社がNatural Product Expo West に出展しました。
当社米国現地法人Daiwa Health Development(DHD USA)社は、3 月23 日～26日の3日間、アナハイムコンベンションセンターにて行われたNatural Product Expo Westに出展しました。
当展示会には米国最大規模の自然食品の展示会ですが、特に今回は3000社が出展、史上最高の43,000人が入場しました。
DHD USA社では、昨年7月に上市したバイオブラン新製品PeakImmune4の更なる認知度向上及び配荷率向上を目的とし出展しましたが、多くの方々に当社製品について熱心に御質問いただきました。
当社製品を「きのこ製品」と認識されているお客様がまだ多く、その度に主成分である米ぬかアラビノキシラン誘導体について、また製品の特徴についてご説明させて頂く機会を得ました。
今月からはシカゴ、サンフランシスコ、ニューヨーク等サプリメント主要都市のラジオの人気健康番組にて製品が紹介される予定です。

◎ＳＵＰＰＬＹＥＸＰＯ2006に出展しました。
ＳＵＰＰＬＹＥＸＰＯ(健食原料・素材・ＯＥＭ展 ２００６)が４月４日(火)～５日（水）東京国際フォーラム（有楽町）で開催され（主催：ヘルスビジネスマガジン社）、当社は、主要商品である「バイオブラン」（米ぬかアラビノキシラン誘導体）、「ＮＫＣＰ」（精製ナットウ菌培養物）をはじめ、第三の主役と位置づけて開発したＬＫ乳酸菌米培地生成物「米ケフィラン」を出展・紹介しました。
この展示会は、国内だけでなくアジア各国企業や団体の出展もありましたが、当社ブースでは、従来のいわゆるナットウキナーゼとはアミノ酸配列が異なるバチロペプチダーゼＦを含有するナットウプロテアーゼ「ＮＫＣＰ」と、従来の常識を超えて米の培地でケフィア由来の乳酸菌を培養した「米ケフィラン」に高い関心が集まりました。
また、今回は企業セミナーのコーナーで、「ナットウプロテアーゼ ＮＫＣＰのトリプルアクション」と題したプレゼンテーションも実施しました。
ＮＫＣＰは血栓溶解作用に加え、血栓形成抑制（抗凝固作用）や血液粘度低下作用を持ち（トリプルファンクション）、とくに抗凝固作用については、ＮＫＣＰだけに確認された作用であること、血液粘度低下作用については現在特許出願中であることを発表しました。
普段からの健康づくりには血栓そのものをつくりにくくする作用を重視すべきであり、ＮＫＣＰはその作用を有し、虚血性疾患や生活習慣病予防に応用可能な素材であることを強調しました。

◎【予告】バイオブランのエビデンス集大成が刊行されます。
当社の主力製品であるバイオブランについて内外のエビデンスを集大成した論文集「ＢｉｏＢｒａｎ／ＭＧＮ―３ 基礎と代替・補完医療への応用」（監修：富山医科薬科大学 田澤賢次名誉教授）が５月に医薬出版から刊行されます（税込み５，２５０円）。
バイオブランについては、開発・販売から１０年以上が経過し、日本をはじめアメリカ、ＥＵなど世界９カ国で製法特許を取得するなど、世界ブランドとしての地位も確立。世界３０カ国に販売実績があります。
当社は今後も引き続き欧米や国内の大学や政府機関、医療機関等との共同・委託試験等を繰り返して、エビデンス蓄積に努めます。

【４】緑茶で認知症予防の可能性
みなさん、今日は何杯緑茶を飲みましたか。
もし2杯以上飲む習慣が続いているなら、認知症の予防につながるかもしれません。
東北大学の研究チームが行った研究からは、そんな期待がもたれます。
70歳以上の男女1,000人を対象に、お茶やコーヒーの摂取状況を調査。
併せて物品名の復唱や計算など認知機能を調べるテスト（30点満点）を受けてもらいました。すると、緑茶を飲む回数が多いと、認知機能の低下が抑えられているという関係が浮かび上がりました。
つまり、認知機能が低下した人（26点未満）の割合が、「1日に2杯」飲む人では、「1週間に3杯以下」の人に比べて半数以下と、かなり少なかったのです。
コーヒー、紅茶、ウーロン茶ではこのような傾向はありませんでした。緑茶の渋み成分であるポリフェノールの1種「エピガロカテキン ガレート（EGCG）」という物質が、脳の神経細胞を保護しているためと見られます。
緑茶に含まれるカフェインの効果の可能性もありますが、コーヒーでは結果が出なかったことから、カフェインの影響は小さいだろうということです。
日本人の生活に広く根ざしている緑茶ですが、近年ではさまざまな機能が明らかにされ、体脂肪の減少やがん予防、感染症予防についても研究が進んでいます。
やはり医食は同源のようです。

◎ DHD USA, our local subsidiary in the United States, exhibited at Natural Product Expo West.
Our U.S. local subsidiary, Daiwa Health Development (DHD USA), exhibited at Natural Product Expo West, held at the Anaheim Convention Center over three days from March 23 to 26.
This exhibition is the largest natural food exhibition in the United States, and this time, 3,000 companies participated, attracting a record 43,000 visitors.
At DHD USA, we exhibited our Bio Bran new product, PeakImmune4, launched last July, with the aim of further raising awareness and improving delivery rates, and many people enthusiastically asked us questions about our products.
Many customers still recognize our products as "mushroom products," and each time we had the opportunity to explain the main ingredient, rice bran arabinoxylane derivative, as well as the product features.

SUPPLYEXPO (Healthy Food Ingredients, Ingredients, OEM Exhibition 2006) was held on April 4 (Tue) ~ 5 (Wed) at Tokyo International Forum (Yurakucho) (hosted by Health Business Magazine), where we exhibited and introduced our main products: "Bio Bran" (rice bran arabinoxylan derivative) and "NKCP" (purified nattobacteria culture), developed as the third leading product, "Rice Kefiran."
This exhibition featured not only domestic but also Asian companies and organizations, and at our booth, there was great interest in the nattoprotease "NKCP," which contains batyropeptidase F with an amino acid sequence different from conventional nattokinase, and "rice kefiran," which cultivates kefir-derived lactic acid bacteria on rice substrate beyond conventional conventions.
Additionally, this time we held a presentation titled "Triple Action of Nattoprotease NKCP" in the corporate seminar corner.
NKCP not only has thrombolytic effects, but also inhibits thrombosis formation (anticoagulant effect) and lowers blood viscosity (triple function). In particular, the anticoagulant effect is confirmed only with NKCP, and the blood viscosity-lowering effect is currently under patent application.
He emphasized that daily health promotion should emphasize its ability to reduce the formation of blood clots themselves, and that NKCP has this effect and is a material applicable to the prevention of ischemic and lifestyle-related diseases.

[4] Potential for dementia prevention with green tea
How many cups of green tea did you all drink today?
If you continue the habit of drinking two or more cups, it may help prevent dementia.
Such expectations are high from the research conducted by the Tohoku University research team.
A survey was conducted on tea and coffee consumption among 1,000 men and women aged 70 and over.
Additionally, participants took a test (out of 30 points) to assess cognitive functions such as reciting product names and performing calculations. This revealed a relationship between drinking green tea more often and suppressing cognitive decline.
In other words, the proportion of people with cognitive decline (score below 26) was significantly lower than those who drank "two drinks a day" compared to those who drank "three or fewer drinks per week."
This trend was not seen in coffee, black tea, or oolong tea. This is believed to be because a polyphenol called epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), a polyphenol that helps green tea avoid astringency, protecting neurons in the brain.
It may also be due to the effects of caffeine contained in green tea, but since there were no results with coffee, the influence of caffeine is probably small.
Green tea is deeply rooted in the lifestyle of Japanese people, and in recent years, various functions have been clarified, and research has been progressing on reducing body fat, preventing cancer, and preventing infectious diseases.
It seems that medicine and food share the same origin, after all.
